Dizzy Gillespie And Henry “Rubberlegs” Williams Behind The Apollo Theater 1940’s (Photo)

October 10, 2017

A friend, young jazz Dizzy Gillespie gabbed around the collar by big man Henry “Rubberlegs” Williams (far right) having fun at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, NY 1940’s.

We imagine these guys were taking a break between sets (they both played on the same band), these guys are joking around behind the Apollo Theater on 126th Street (and between Adam Clayton Powell and St. Nicholas Avenue), a great fun photograph by an anonymous photographer.
