Domino’s New App Orders A Pizza When You Opens It

With about 5-6 Domino’s Pizza outlets in Harlem, now Harlem fans will be happy to hear that the Pizza chain, has announced its latest innovation in food ordering: an app that orders a pizza with “zero clicks.”

The process isn’t quite hassle-free. To order a pizza with “zero clicks,” a customer must first download the app, connect it to their Domino’s profile, and set an “Easy Order” option — you know, the go-to pizza you’d order regularly enough to warrant a dedicated app.

Once everything is set, simply opening the “Zero Click” app will order said pizza. If you want to cancel the order, the app provides a 10-second countdown. This solution clearly isn’t a flawless method to prevent the inherent problem with the app, one that encapsulates our shared moment in time: accidentally ordering a pizza with your butt.

The app is the latest attempt by Domino’s to remove both human contact and the faintest stress from the pizza-ordering process. In the past, Domino’s has allowed customers to order pizza via Amazon Echo, Apple’s Siri, Samsung’s Smart TVs, and even emoji on Twitter. But I suspect the “Zero Click” app could have the opposite effect it intends, adding more stress and human interaction when the app does its job too well. What’s more stressful than a countdown timer threatening to order a pizza because you accidentally opened the wrong app? And can you imagine explaining to the Domino’s delivery man that it was your tooshie that ordered that extra-large pineapple and anchovies pizza pie?

Let alone, the fact that some customers will start complaining that, I didn’t order that pizza my butt ordered that pizza!
