Don’t Cry for Gabourey Sidibe!

January 15, 2014

Gabourey-Sidibe-golden-globesHarlem resident Gabourey Sidibeshouldn’t care less about what a bunch of mean-spirited strangers wrote about her on Twitter.

And, we’re happy to report, it appears that she doesn’t!

“To people making mean comments about my GG pics, I mos def cried about it on that private jet on my way to my dream job last night. #JK,” the American Horror Story: Coven star tweeted today after apparently getting some negative feedback about her Golden Globes look.

Sidibe hit the red carpet last night in a shimmering off-white gown designed by her stylist, Daniel Musto, with Michael Costello Couture.

And it wasn’t just a look that Musto sweated over.

“Remember that time I stabbed myself with a safety pin and bled all over Gabourey Sidibe‘s Golden Globes dress and had to clean it with my own spit because she said it would work and than she tweeted a photo of me doing it? Yeah. It worked,” Musto wrote on Instagram along with a pic of him attempting that homespun remedy.

But all was repaired in time, and Sidibe happily took her Twitter followers along for the ride—starting quite literally with her ride to the Golden Globes with costar Taissa Farmiga.

“My doll @t_farmiga has the best face! She looks like a dead baby. She knows what I mean! #GoldenGIobes,” Sidibe tweeted along with a pic of the two actresses in the car. (Must be an AHS: Coven inside joke.)

She also got all fan-girly over Retta from Parks and Recreation, tweeting, “Ugh obsessed with @unfoRETTAble Bumped into her on the carpet and nearly shat myself. #fancy.”

The TMI party didn’t end there, either!

“My underwear hurts….. Need more booze. Send help! #GoldenGIobes,” read another shameless tweet, Sidibe obviously embracing the open-bar spirit of the Golden Globes.

We’re just glad she had a blast—never mind the haters, lady!

Some of the responses to her devil-may-care tweet thumbing her nose at her critics included “I love you Gab, these ppl are so annoying, that’s all envy.” and an encouraging “@GabbySidibe You go girl! You looked amazing!!!!!” (Source).
