East Harlem Man Wounded After Pointing Gun At Cops

23-pct-psa-5-police-involved-shooting-05-18-14Two police officers shot and wounded a man who pointed a gun at them early Sunday in East Harlem.

The suspect was listed in critical but stable condition at New York Cornell Medical Center after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds in the confrontation.

The man, whose name has not yet been released by police, fled on foot when officers responded to a 911 call about a disorderly group at the Washington Houses at 215 E 102 St at about 2 a.m. He then turned and pointed a .22 caliber revolver at the officers, who both fired back, police said.

The officers recovered the suspect’s weapon and were treated at St. Luke’s Hospital for ringing in the ears.
