Famed Private Eye Bo “No Punching Pulling” Dietl Shopping Harlem TV Pilot

July 29, 2014

EXCLUSIVE: Bo Dietl out for lunch at Nellos in NYCIn NY Post’s Page Six reports that Bo Dietl, the private eye who has had his own table at Rao’s in East Harlem since 1977, wants to share his weekly dining experience there with the world.

The former police detective is shopping a pilot, “Bo’s Table at Rao’s” — co-starring Geraldo Rivera and Charles Grodin — to cable channels.

“I’ll have different people every episode,” Dietl said, reeling off some past dining companions: Jack Welch, Warren Buffett, Sumner Redstone, Denzel Washington, Bruce Willis and Angelina Jolie.

Harlem’s Rao’s owner Frank Pellegrino, “the most liberal son of a bitch in the world..” says Dietl

The conversation will always include some politics — with Rao’s owner Frank Pellegrino, “the most liberal son of a bitch in the world, piping in from the bar,” Dietl said. “I don’t pull no punches.”

Meanwhile, Dietl plays a hitman in the pilot for Martin Scorsese’s untitled HBO series about the rock music scene of the 1970s, being co-produced by Mick Jagger and Terence Winter (of “Boardwalk Empire” fame).

The cast includes Bobby Cannavale, Ray Romano, Andrew Dice Clay, Olivia Wilde, Juno Temple — and Mick’s son James Jagger as the lead singer of the Nasty Bits.
