First Trailer For ‘Pose,’ New Series From ‘Glee’ Creator Set In (Of Course) Harlem (Video)

April 14, 2018

Ryan Murphy’s next series is the musical drama Pose, set in 1980s New York and revolving around Harlem’s house music dance and fashion scene of the time.

After Glee and American Horror Story, writer and producer Ryan Murphy is celebrating his enthusiasm for the influence of “freaks” and outsiders with Pose, due June 2018 on 21st Century Fox television network FX.

Focusing on the ballroom community culture and a dance style called voguing that went on to inspire everyone from Madonna and Beyoncé to FKA Twigs and Harlem’s Azealia Banks, Pose sets a new record in American television production with a cast that includes over 50 LGBTQ actors.

“We took dance from mainstream and posing in magazines and created ‘vogue,’” the trailer tells viewers. “At the core of it, it’s community. It’s about being alone and then finding people that are just like you.”

Here’s the video:

Ryan Murphy created the series alongside Glee, American Horror Story, Scream Queens and 9-1-1 collaborator Brad Falchuk. They are joined by relative newcomer Steven Canals, who was on the writing team for episodic horror Dead of Summer. — AFP-Relaxnews.
