art flux in harlemFLUX Public Art Projects, continues to May 31st, 2016, there is 40+ Public Art Projects throughout Harlem’s Parks and Boulevards, at Marcus Garvey Park, Harlem Art Park, Eugene McCabe Field, 127th Street Harlem Grown Farm, Lenox Avenue and 124th Street.

Here’s the schedule:

Saturday, May 7, 11am
“Architecture + Growth”
  Moderated by Warren James, Architect and Harlem Art Park Guest Curator.
A discussion between urban artists and architects with Jack Travis, FAIA, Architect; Kendal Henry, NYC Dept. of Cultural Affairs, Director Percent for Art Program; and FLUX artists José Soto and Kurt Steger exploring how the contemporary artist influences the architectural vision and expression of urban design and growth. These urban artists and architects deliberate on the impact of their roles in pursuing organic, physical, and technological growth within the cityscape.

Terry, Director of Programs & Curator, New York Foundation for the Arts. Panelists: Joey Lico, Dena Muller, Larry Ossei Mensah and Gardy St. Fleur. Four distinguished cultural producers discuss trends in contemporary art, technological advances in the evolving art scene, and how they influence art buying in the national and international arena. The panel will explore how to collect with respect to said trends, while introducing the audience to new artists to watch in the future.
