Rick Dale of Rick’s Restorations in Las Vegas is busier than ever bringing new life to objects from the past heralding some his largest and most expensive restorations to date – including a “Big Mac Jail” from a 1970s McDonalds PlayPlace and an authentic James Bond 1977 Esprit Lotus Submarine Car featured in the film The Spy Who Loved Me. When celebrity clients and Harlem fave who has played at the Apollo Theater George Clinton of Parliament Funkadelic and legendary illusionist David Copperfield stop by the shop, the pressure rises in Rick’s world of one-of-a-kind items, impossible to find parts and tough deadlines, but despite the challenges there isn’t anything Rick’s Restorations can’t handle.

In the premiere episode on June 2, Rick and his team prepare for a pitch-perfect project as Rock N’ Roll Hall of Famer George Clinton arrives with a beaten-down 1923 Chickering quarter baby grand piano. Before the piano was damaged in a flood it was full of memories from the past four decades, as the Grandfather of Funk has written and recorded numerous songs using this piano including his hit Give up the Funk. This episode makes for the most spectacular reveal yet, as P-Funk puts on an over-the-top concert in honor of Rick restoring this classic instrument.

Additional restorations in the new episodes include: a knife throwing board from David Copperfield’s Museum of Conjuring Arts, a 1976 AMF Evel Knievel bicycle, a one-of-a-kind quarter-scale model of a 1932 Hudson car, a British 1950s Ariel Square Four motorcycle, a 1950s hockey pinball game, a 1900s cigar slot machine, and a 1970s arcade Punch-Out game given to the shop by Pawn Stars’ Rick Harrison.

AMERICAN RESTORATION is produced for HISTORY by Leftfield Pictures. Susan Werbe is Executive Producer for HISTORY. David George and Allan Title are Executive Producers for Leftfield Pictures and Sean Moran is Co-Executive Producer.
