Hamilton Heights House Asking $3.25M In Harlem

January 11, 2018

NY Curbed reports that there’s no shortage of stunningprewar architecture for sale in Hamilton Heights, and the new-to-market limestone townhouse at 426 West 147th Street is a welcome addition to that list.

The 19-foot-wide townhouse was built in the 1890s, and its age shows in the house’s immaculate and intricate woodwork—that banister!—its inlaid wood floors, mantles, and millwork. All that wood might be too much for some folks’ taste, but you’d be hard-pressed to deny the craftsmanship on view.

Under all of that built-in decor is an eight-bedroom, four and a half bathroom house on the market for $3.25 million. While managing to hang on to all that woodwork, the house has also been updated for modern life with amenities like two-zone central air and smartphone-controlled Honeywell thermostats, and appliances like a Bosch dishwasher, venting six-burner stove, and a vented washer and dryer.
