Harlem Fave First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden Scrub In To The Night Shift

image002First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden’s Joining Forces initiative and The Night Shift, NBC’s hit medical drama from Sony Pictures Television, have come together in an effort to highlight and amplify veteran’s health initiatives, spotlighting veterans’ strength and resilience and the many resources that are available to vets and their families through local Vet Centers from Harlem to Hollywood. 

The culmination of this collaboration will air on Monday, May 4 (10 p.m. ET/PT) when NBC presents a very special episode of The Night Shift that will illustrate the healing, resilience and sense of purpose that veterans, such as San Antonio Memorial’s own TC Callahan (played by Eoin Macken), have found when they get the support they need. The First Lady and Dr. Biden will also appear in the episode. In conjunction with the episode, a public service announcement furthering the conversation around veterans’ mental health featuring the First Lady, Dr. Biden and stars of The Night Shift — Eoin Macken, Jill Flint and Robert Bailey Jr.

TC (Eoin Macken) introduces the night shift team to his MMA group therapy leader, Colonel Elwood “Smalls” Green (guest star, country music legend Trace Adkins), who surprises the group with a special greeting from First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden.  Jordan (Jill Flint) and Paul (Robert Bailey Jr.) help a nine-year-old boy with a serious fever. When his high-strung mother begins to exhibit signs of distress as well, the team realizes there is more to the family dynamic than meets the eye.  Topher (Ken Leung) is faced with a big decision about making an emergency trip overseas to help a close friend with a fatal heart condition, and TC considers whether he should accompany Topher on the journey.  Meanwhile, Ragosa (Freddy Rodriguez), Drew (Brendan Fehr) and Krista (Jeananne Goossen) compete for the strangest case of the night as the full moon brings in the weirdest patients. JR Lemon also stars. Merle Dandridge guest stars.
