September 12, 2016

music-beyond-measure1Music Beyond Measure (MBM) has been selected to provide arts programming to probation clients in Harlem as part of NeON Arts, a partnership between Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute and the NYC Department of Probation.

NeOn Arts stakeholders across the five boroughs selected seven organizations from the New York metro area to deliver arts projects that help young people develop creative, social, and emotional skills, and build positive peer relationships.

For the Summer 2016 NeON Arts grant cycle, MBM will be focusing on the “Sing Your Story” Project, which will partner youth probation clients with professional musicians to compose lyrics and music to their own songs.

The project will take place over 8-weeks and will conclude with a community performance at Weill Music Room at Carnegie Hall on Thursday, September 15, 2016.
