Harlem Rep Espaillat Statement On Former FBI Director James Comey’s Testimony

June 7, 2017

Congressman Adriano Espaillat issued the following statement on former FBI Director James Comey’s upcoming testimony to the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence:

“Obviously, Trump has had several contacts by phone and one-on-one with former Director James Comey. I am deeply concerned with the tone and content of those conversations and look forward to tomorrow’s testimony before the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence in an open hearing,” said Rep. Espaillat.

“The American people want answers and deserve to finally hear the truth regarding Donald Trump’s connections to Russia and his repeated attempts to interfere with the FBI’s investigation.

“From Michael Flynn to Sergey Lavrov and every potential collusion in between, I hope tomorrow’s testimony will help us finally, once and for all, uncover the truth about who enabled the Russians to interfere with our electoral process and hijack our democracy. This further strengthens my resolve to call for a 9/11 style commission and independent investigation.”
