With kids all over New York City in full swing of the new school year, an elementary school in Harlem is helping to make a bold statement against education discrimination.

Four outdoor walls of P.S. 92 will be covered with murals painted by renowned, New York-based street artists in support of the global Not A Crime campaign founded by Maziar Bahari, which uses art and music to raise awareness of human rights abuses in Iran and beyond. The school will feature work by artists Tatyana Fazlalizadeh, Lmnopi, See One and Marthalicia.

Painting of the murals commenced this week, with all four artists painting this Thursday. The pieces on P.S. 92 will culminate the campaign goal to complete 15 murals across Harlem from April through September.

Thursday, Sept. 22nd, 2016, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

P.S. 92 (Mary McLeod Bethune Elementary School), 222 West 134th St., New York, NY
