Harlem ‘Sex Spa’ Principal Back On The job

December 17, 2017

NY Post reports that a Harlem principal yanked from his post earlier this year when he rewarded staffers by bringing them to a notorious Queens bathhouse is back on the job — and the city is fighting the decision in court.

In papers filed Friday, the city says arbitrator Haydee Rosario exceeded her authority Dec. 5 ordering Nadav Zeimer back at his $155,000-a-year job as principal of Harlem Renaissance School.

The city has had multiple issues with Zeimer, who became principal of Harlem Renaissance High School in 2010 and was tenured in 2013.

While other employees at Harlem Renaissance High School were forced to spend Jan. 30 at school — for a citywide “professional development’’ day ordered by Chancellor Carmen FariñaZeimer allegedly brought 12 of their colleagues to the Spa Castle, a notorious Queens bathhouse.

Zeimer was also sued for allegedly ordering staffers to pay hundreds for self improvement courses. The city cited Zeimer’s policy of sending home kids who got to school after 10 a.m., and allowing his wife to teach and volunteer in the school without authorization. Zeimer was suspended without pay on June 22.

Th city contends the arbitrator doesn’t have the authority “to usurp the power of a superintendent and determine placement of a tenured pedagogue,” and that Zeimer is “not entitled” to return to his old job.

“We’ve challenged this decision, and have made a strong case for why it should not stand,” Law Department spokesman Nicholas Paolucci said.

Zeimer did not return messages.
