Harlem’s Chef Gina Keatley Appearing on Food Network Special ‘Savoring Harlem’ with Marcus Samuelson

Chef Gina Keatley will appear on Food Network’s new special entry, “Savoring Harlem,” featuring Chef Marcus Samuelson on Friday, February 24th at 8pm ET/PT.

Harlem is in the midst of an undeniable food revolution, restaurateurs like Marcus Samuelson have come to breathe new life into the food culture, while culinary institutions like Sylvia’s have stayed true to their traditions and remain relevant and sought after in a new landscape. As the neighborhood undergoes another renaissance, opportunities for change are around every corner in the form of new restaurants and green markets.

From Ethiopian to Italian to French and Spanish, virtually every type of cuisine makes Harlem a vibrant food destination. The informative program showcases Chef Gina Keatley in her element, sharing her love of food and health.

“I have truly enjoyed filming this special focusing on food in Harlem,” says Gina Keatley. “Food brings all cultures a little closer and I am happy that America will get a peek into the food here in Harlem.”

Chef Gina Keatley received her first culinary experience traveling around the United States as a young child. Upon high school graduation, Keatley worked her way through a culinary arts program, but decided to pursue a career as a nutritionist, helping others with good and tasty food.

She earned a degree from the respected, New York University. Keatley is now the chief executive officer of Nourishing NYC and Nourishing USA—organizations designed to help those most in need. The recognition and awards she has garnered have made her known to food-loving, charitable Americans everywhere. In 2011, she received the designation of CNN Hero and L’Oreal Women of Worth for her significant and long-lasting contributions to helping those in need.
