Harlem’s Juelz Santana To Be Prosecuted

April 2, 2018

The Jasmine Brand reports not so good news for uptown Harlem man Juelz Santana. The 36-year-old rapper (born LaRon James) will be prosecuted on federal drug and gun charges, stemming from an incident an the Newark-Liberty International Airport.

In March, Santana was accused of fleeing the airport security area, leaving two bags behind. Reportedly, security found a loaded .38-caliber handgun and Oxycodone pills he didn’t have a prescription for in a carry-on bag containing his identification. He turned himself three days later and pleaded not guilty.

He faced both federal and state charges, where he pleaded not guilty to state charges. However, the state charges were dismissed. The Essex County prosecutors decided to defer to the federal authorities. Santana has been in custody since turning himself in.

Unfortunately, this isn’t his first brush with the law. In 2011, Santana was arrested on four counts of drug and weapons charges, during a raid at his New Jersey studio. Santana is dating former Love & Hip Hop New York star, Kimbella.
