Harlem’s Puff Daddy And The Family Reunite For Harlem Style Doc

As the biggest names from Bad Boy’s history prepare to celebrate the label’s 20th anniversary, the film traces the label’s emergence in Harlem and Brooklyn, follows its meteoric rise, explores the tragic killing of Biggie Smalls.

It also celebrates Bad Boy’s influence in reshaping music, fashion, marketing and culture – all while revealing the love and commitment that form the bonds between the Bad Boy family.

The event, which spanned two days, featured a who’s who of 90s hip-hop acts (Nas, Jay Z, DMX) and new school stars (French Montana, Ty Dolla $ign). The film, which includes performances by Puff Daddy, Mase, Lil Kim, Faith Evans among others, made its premiere at the TriBeCa Film Festival afew nights ago. Puff Daddy partnered with both Live Nation and Apple Music, respectfully, to produce and distribute the project. “He’s so vulnerable and human in this”, adds Live Nation Productions head Heather Parry. “It feels surreal but also I feel proud”. – Reuters pic Combs explained that the one hour and 15 minute movie started as a concert documentary and morphed into a story about family, tragedy and perseverance.

Yet it was the hyper-energetic thrust of Lil Kim poppin’ out with the fellas (along with Puff Daddys sons Justin and Christian Combs) for the finale cut, “All About The Benjamins”. “I don’t know if we have any out of towners in the house…but I’m from NY muthafu**a!” By the time the intro to “Victory” blared over the loudspeakers, the audience, which included Clive Davis, Andre Harrell and Fab 5 Freddy, was Puff Daddy‘s to control:

… he said, according to Variety.

The doc will be available to the masses on June 25, 2017 through an exclusive deal with Apple Music. The mogul says, “This generation knows what they want and I’m just trying to help them get it”.
