Former veep [easyazon_link identifier=”1250171679″ locale=”US” tag=”harlemworld-20″]Joe Biden[/easyazon_link] deflected questions from [easyazon_link identifier=”0812982584″ locale=”US” tag=”harlemworld-20″]Katie Couric[/easyazon_link] at OZY Fest in Central Park on Saturday about whether he’ll run for president in 2020.

But later, at a VIP dinner for the event, Biden was still urged to get into the race by chef [easyazon_link identifier=”0470940581″ locale=”US” tag=”harlemworld-20″]Marcus Samuelsson[/easyazon_link].

Spies said that Biden was at Samuelsson’s Red Rooster in Harlem, along with guests including [easyazon_link identifier=”0316017930″ locale=”US” tag=”harlemworld-20″]Malcolm Gladwell[/easyazon_link], Wharton professor Adam Grant and Couric.

The Yahoo anchor earlier asked Biden — who was in the audience after introducing a panel with Couric and his wife, Jill — if he’d run in three years.

“My focus now… is to get a [easyazon_link identifier=”1451627637″ locale=”US” tag=”harlemworld-20″]Democratic Congress[/easyazon_link] elected in 2018… My hope and expectation is that some of the younger folks are going to come up and fill the void.”

Biden has previously said he would not run in 2020.
