HCCI Harlem Revive! A Community Day of Unity

Community Day of Unity 083On Saturday, August 1, 2015 Harlem Congregations for Community Improvement, Inc. will present the “Harlem Revive!: A Community Day of Unity” at the Bradhurst neighborhood’s Jackie Robinson Park Amphitheater Saturday. This community affair was designed to offer a social, emotional, spiritual and financial health revival for Harlem community residents.

The affair will offer free t-shirts, free food, live music, dance performances and a ton of activities.  Conceived and produced by the Rev. Dr. Charles Butler, HCCI’s vice president of equitable development, Harlem Revive will unite local businesses (which will accept job applications on site); local clergy, who will offer words of encouragement; youth groups will entertain children with arts and crafts; and community leaders and elected officials will address residents to emphasize a spirit of love and community engagement.

Community partners include: Access Wireless, American Heart Association, Arts Horizon, Ashley Stewart, Avon, Banana Republic, Bed, Bath & Beyond, BJ’s, C.O.P.E., Capital One Bank, Carver Bank, Charmain of Crude Foods, Commission on Human Rights, Domino’s Pizza, Duane Reade Pharmacy, Dunkin Donuts, FPWA, FDNY, Fine Fair, Supermarket, Gap Store, Harlem Hospital, Home Depot, HSBC, Jacob’s Restaurant, Lane Bryant, Manna’s Restaurant, Modell’s, NYPD, PS A6, Pathmark, Pioneer Supermarket, Popeye’s, Ryan Center, Starbuck’s, SafeLink Wireless, Subway, Sweet Mama’s, T-Mobile, Target, United Health and WIC among others.
