The intruders knocked on the door of an apartment at West 115th Street and Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard at 7:15 p.m EST. Thursday and tried to force their way in, NYPD said. The residents, ages 49 and 59, resisted, and one of the suspects began firing. The 59-year-old victim was shot in the arm, and a bullet fragment struck the 49-year-old man in the head, police said. The older victim was treated at St. Luke’s Hospital and released, while the younger man was in stable condition there.
