Inside ASAP TyY’s First Art Show With Smile Design Gallery

February 7, 2014

New York City’s Smile Design Gallery was started by Dr. Lee Gause. A dentist, Guase began the gallery with a mission to provide free dental care to the needy through sales of the gallery’s artwork. The gallery’s last show, the Harlem Street Art Fair, was held at Harlem’s Riverside Church at the end of January. Hosted by Angela Simmons, a patient of Dr. Guase, the event featured the artwork of ASAP Mob member ASAP TyY, Butterfly Mush, Najee Smith and UR New York.

“Since I was a kid, I’ve always been fascinated by cartoons and was always playing with pencils and drawing,” ASAP TyY told VIBE. For him, it was a big night. It was TyY’s first art show that showed he’s come a long way from his childhood sketching days.
