A great moment is frozen in time. What makes this image remarkable is the two-story wooden structure that speaks to an earlier architectural period in Harlem from the 1900s. Also, the brownstone like apartment buildings in the background gives a hint of what’s to come in the coming 20th century.

In this pulled back view of the image (above) there is construction all around the hotel, on both streets in front and behind the hotel. Like the Hotel, the Harlem Horse & Wagon Transit hub went the way of the demolition ball.
