Man, 22, Fatally Stabbed In Harlem’s Jackie Robinson Houses

A 22-year-old man collapsed in front of the door to his mother’s East Harlem apartment Monday night after suffering a stab wound that would prove to be fatal, police said.

Tyrell Govan was discovered by one of his mother’s neighbors in front of her door on the 6th floor of the Jackie Robinson Houses, a public housing development located near East 128th Street and Lexington Avenue, an NYPD spokeswoman told Patch. When first responders arrived around 6 p.m. Govan was conscious but not responsive, police said.

Govan was transported to Harlem Hospital where he was later pronounced dead, police told source.

The fatal stabbing is still being investigated by the NYPD. No arrests have been made.
