Man Critically Injured In Morningside Heights In Harlem, Update (Video)

A young man suffered critical injuries Monday morning after being struck by a hit and run driver in Morningside Heights, an NYPD spokesman told Patch.

The 19-year-old victim, who has not been identified, was walking in the intersection of Riverside Drive and West 115th Street around 12:25 a.m. when he was hit by a vehicle driving north on Riverside Drive, police told sources. Police responded to the scene and discovered the victim suffering critical injuries to the head and legs, police said.

The victim was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital in critical condition, police said. The victim’s current condition could not be confirmed by police.

The driver did not stay on the scene of the collision, police told sources. The NYPD investigation into the collision is ongoing and no arrests have been made, an NYPD spokesman said.
