Man Dies After Shooting In Harlem, New York

harlem shootingsA man died in shootings in Harlem, New York, late Thursday, witnesses and police said.

Gerard Woodley, 46, was shot in the head on West 139th Street Near Malcolm X Blvd., in Harlem just before 11:20 p.m., police said.

“It was three shots fired. They were back to back,” said neighborhood advocate Lesha Sekou. “They were pretty loud and I heard one scream. Then the noise dissipated. When I came out, no one was out(side).”

Woodley was rushed to nearby Harlem Hospital but he could not be saved, police said.
