National Action Network to Convene Members of Congress

seitu sharpton3Reverend Al Sharpton, President and Founder of Harlem based National Action Network (NAN), and NAN leadership this week will bring together members of Congress and the Administration, policy experts, and civil rights leaders and partners for this year’s NAN Legislative and Policy Conference.

The two-day policy conference will take place Wednesday and Thursday, July 8th and 9th, on Capitol Hill. Reverend Sharpton will deliver remarks to the conference and will be joined by Congressman G.K. Butterfield (NC-01), Chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC); Congressman James E. Clyburn (SC-06), Assistant Democratic Leader;  Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee (TX-18);  Congresswoman Linda T. Sánchez (CA-39), Chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC); U.S. Senators Charles E. “Chuck” Schumer (D-NY), Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) and Tim Scott (R-SC); and members of U.S. Departments of Labor and Health and Human Services, among others for a series of policy discussions and programs.
