New Cultural Affairs Commissioner Finkelpearl And Others At Arts Workshop In Harlem

On December 20th, 2016, at Harlem Stage, the CreateNYC team will hold its Manhattan borough-wide workshop where residents can participate in the process of creating New York City’s first-ever comprehensive cultural plan. From fall 2016 through spring 2017, the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs and Hester Street Collaborative are engaging with residents across all five boroughs through public events, online surveys, open office hours, social media, and more. The CreateNYC borough-wide workshops will provide residents an opportunity to get involved and examine our city’s cultural assets as the relate to the specific places, concerns, opportunities, and issues unique to the communities in each borough.

“From Fort Tryon to Battery Park, Manhattan’s art and cultural offerings are rich beyond belief. But how can we do better? How can we make sure everyone has access to transformative cultural experiences that engage, enlighten, and educate? Join us at Harlem Stage and share your ideas, thoughts, hopes, and concerns about how we can support the city’s cultural life in a way that connects with every New Yorker,” said Cultural Affairs Commissioner Tom Finkelpearl.
