MNY217299Wooden houses, long before the real estate development in East Harlem looking east at Pleasant Avenue and 116th Street, in 1900.

These wooden homes are great examples of the type of “country style” homes that surrounded Harlem during the turn of the century.

These wooden homes would be torn down to be replaced by the brownstone and city planning for the coming population.
