May 14, 2015

BOTTLESHEADSHOTOn Saturday, May 23, International renowned Singer, Song Stylist ABIAH will perform live at Ginny’s Supper Club, 310 Lenox Avenue, Harlem, USA.

This captivating artist, who captured the hearts and souls of those who had the pleasure of hearing his debut album, Chasing Forever, will share jewels from his latest project, Life As A Ballad and forthcoming release BOTTLES featuring the breakout hits “Scent of a Woman” and “Gone.” The artistic songbook is similarly arresting, highlighting ABIAH’s strength, poise and range. His controlled melodic structuring and mature, passionate lyricism have created instant gems in the songs that catapulted this young artist to coveted performances and highly sought vocal coaching assignments.

On his forthcoming album BOTTLES, ABIAH collaborates with Avery Sunshine and Monday Michiru and rejoins co-producer Keith Witty, and members of his touring band: Marvin Sewell, Chris Eddleton and David Rosenthal. “We’d been playing new songs on the road over the last two years, which helped me to be much clearer about what to records” he says.  The projects include seven new songs and two arranged covers including Tina Turner’s “What’s Love Got To Do With It”.  The first single “Scent of a Woman” is an ode to women. “It celebrates the beauties that they are, for the simple things they do and the complexity that they embody,” he says.

ABIAH honed his skills as a background singer for artists George Michael, Chuck Mangione, Amel Larrieux and Yolanda Adams while cutting his chops in opera as a voice major in college.  By the time his debut album was released in 2006, ABIAH already knew exactly what he brought to the table — a warm, engaging voice and unassailable taste in music.  His debut album was an underground smash.  His video Love For a While, a duet with Shanice Wilson became a hit on VH1 Soul and BET J.

Since his debut album, ABIAH became an in-demand vocal coach. Initial inquiries from singer-friends impressed by his sound and range has blossomed into a side-business that finds him coaching major label artists, up-and-comers, solid pros, and musical game show contestants hoping to impress celebrity judges. He also made an appearance on an Emmy nominated episode of MTV’s MADE.

Along with his passion for coaching artists and creating great music, performing is what ABIAH loves most.  “There is nothing like feeling and seeing the atmosphere change in a room,” he says.  “It’s so important to be in touch with your audience. They come to hear music but leave with their lives changed because of the music. That’s my job and calling.”
