Harlem Unites For The Road Race In Marcus Garvey Park

June 16, 2016

harlem united1On Father’s Day, this coming Sunday, the second annual Harlem One-Miler will be held in Marcus Garvey Park.  This event is open to all fitness levels and ages.  With timed running races and a family walk including dogs and strollers, everyone in the community is invited to participate in the fun.

The Harlem One Miler is organized by Harlem United and Harlem Run as an extension of their weekly Harlem Gets Fit programming.  The race has doubled in size from last year and the community is showing their support.

Every participant will receive a finisher’s medal and a free drink at our after party at Angel of Harlem.  Top finishers will receive prize packages from Brooklyn Running Company and Walgreens.  Additional sponsors include ChaiWali, Harlem Shake, and JackRabbit.

Money raised will support Harlem United’s programs providing critically needed health, housing and human services to communities throughout New York City.
