The 7th Annual Tell Every Amazing Lady about About Ovarian Cancer (T.E.A.L.) Walk/Run took place on Saturday, September 12th, at the Bandshell in Prospect Park, Brooklyn.
The morning started with the official timed 5K run. The runners with the top finishing times received an award. As the run finished up, the majority of supporters arrived for the walking portion of the day.
Once again Ovarian Cancer and Breast Cancer survivor ABC News Reporter Stacy Stager and comedian Ellen Karis held down the hosting duties. Before the walk began, New York Senator Martin J. Golden dropped by to say hello. Brooklyn Council Member Rafael Espinal and Laurie Cumbo supported the event by participating in the walk.
For the more emotional part of the day, Brooklynette Nets dancers and Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams helped with the special presentation to the Ovarian Cancers survivors who came to take part in the walk.
Singer/Songwriter and former American Idol Finalist Brielle Von Hugel sang the National Anthem and after a warm up with the Harbor Fitness staff, it was time to walk!
NYPD helped with the walk route from land and by air.
The weather was great for a great cause.
