On a gorgeous Sunday afternoon, the 39th Annual African American Day Parade kicked off on 111th and Adam Clayton Powell Avenue. With Governor David Paterson, Comptroller William Thompson, Assemblyman, Keith L.T. Wright among others leading the way, the Harlem parade was on its way to being a nice celebration of Black positive achievement.WBLS held down their own float, the NAACP had a strong presence and countless other organizations played a part.

Further up in the parade at The Adam Clayton Powell State Office Building aka the HarlemStateBuilding, the WBLS team with Hal Jackson and the crew, stopped all of the parade participants for a quick chat on the mic.It was an opportunity for those who were within earshot to hear directly from each individual or group in the parade.
