The Kentucky Derby On Lenox Avenue was a huge success with events happening from Red Rooster to Harlem Social in Harlem.The event was Harlem’s run for the roses gala celebration of the Kentucky Derby.

James Winkfield was the last African American to win the Kentucky Derby.
