Senator Marisol Alcántara To Announce $80,000 For Washington Heights

State Senator Marisol Alcántara, together with the Dominican Women’s Development Center, will announce $80,000 in state funding for an after school program targeting Washington Heights’ at-risk youth on Thursday, August 31, at Mama Tingo Child Care and Learning Center, 2340 Amsterdam Avenue, New York, NY.

This program will serve the needs of Washington Heights’ youth for a safe place to spend time after school as they wait for their parents to finish work. The center will provide tutoring, homework help, and recreational activities to encourage teens to avoid drugs, crime, and unsafe sexual activity.
