Striver’s Row House Seeks In Harlem $3.75M

February 16, 2016

NY Curbed reports that a little more than a year ago, a 3,900-square-foot townhouse on Striver’s Row (West 138th and 139th streets between Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard and Frederick Douglass Boulevard) sold for $2.9 million, breaking the sale record for the historic block. Now, another townhouse—this one a 5,000-square-foot, four-bedroom place on West 138th—is attempting to break that record with an asking price of $3.75 million. Of course, there’s no telling whether it will actually sell for that much, but that it’s starting at such a high price could mean change is coming to the block, long a haven for affordablehomes. While the interiors are a bit dated, the bones are there: the house has high ceilings, plenty of space, and a two-car garage. (It’s configured as a two-family home, but can be converted back to single-family.)
