SummerStage Announces Free Show With DNCE, B.o.B, Questlove In Central Park

September 8, 2017

Just when you thought the outdoor concert season was coming to an end, City Parks Foundation and Capital One Bank will keep the summer vibes going just a little longer.

They’ll do this with a free exclusive concert for Capital One Bank customers featuring multi-platinum selling rock band DNCE, rapper and songwriter B.o.B, The Roots drummer-turned-DJ Questlove, and Everyday People’s DJ Moma on Thursday, September 28, 2017, at SummerStage in Central Park.

As part of Capital One Bank’s presenting sponsorship of SummerStage, the bank is thrilled to add one final free show to the 2017 season by hosting DNCE and B.o.B exclusively for their customers.

To get your complimentary tickets, go to the Capital One Branch at 853 Broadway in Union Square, on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, from 4:30pm – 7:30pm, and show your Capital One Bank card to get two tickets while supplies last. During the ticket giveaway enjoy DJ Reborn’s blend of soul, hip hop, and Afrobeat sounds.

Formed in the summer of 2015, DNCE first introduced themselves to audiences worldwide with the release of their debut single “Cake By The Ocean,” which became a certified double-platinum breakout smash and made them one of 2016’s most buzzworthy acts. Assembled by frontman Joe Jonas, formerly of the Jonas Brothers, DNCE’s all-star bandmates include bassist & keyboardist Cole Whittle, South Korean bred guitarist JinJoo, and drummer Jack Lawless. The band recently wrapped a U.S. tour with multi-platinum singer Selena Gomez in support of their debut EP, SWAAY, and fresh off their win for “Best New Artist” at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, the band announced the release of their highly anticipated self-titled debut album, DNCE, which will hit stores this November.

The show will open with a performance from Grammy nominated rapper and songwriter B.o.B., who rose to fame in 2009 with his hit debut single, “Nothin’ On You,” which featured a young Bruno Mars. His 2010 debut album, B.o.B Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray, spawned two more hits, “Airplane” and “Magic,” the latter of which featured Weezer’s lead singer Rivers Cuomo. His sophomore album, 2012’s Strange Clouds saw the rapper team up with a genre-spanning collection of artists, from Taylor Swift to Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj. The album hit number one on the US Billboard Rap Albums charts, and number five on the US Billboard Top 200. In 2017, B.o.B. released his fourth studio album, Ether, featuring guest appearances from Usher, Young Thug, and Ty Dolla $ign.

The exclusive concert will also feature DJ sets from The Roots’ drummer extraordinaire Questlove and Everyday People’s DJ Moma.

“We are extremely pleased and excited to help SummerStage close out its season in style, by sponsoring this special concert for Capital One customers,” said Michael Slocum, President, Commercial Banking and Northeast Regional President, Capital One. “This all-star lineup will provide a memorable grand finale that showcases New York’s creativity and artistic diversity.”

“Thanks to presenting sponsor Capital One, we’re going out with a real bang,” said Heather Lubov, Executive Director of City Parks Foundation. “We love working with Capital One, and this concert will be such an incredible opportunity for their customers to continue enjoying SummerStage. We are proud to create special experiences like these for New Yorkers and Capital One customers.”

City Parks Foundation’s SummerStage, New York City’s largest free performing arts festival, kicked off its 32nd season in May and has presented over 100 concerts, dance, theater and family programs in 18 parks across the 5 boroughs throughout the summer. The 2017 season will officially close out in Central Park on October 8 with Elsie Fest, a ticketed event featuring Alan Cumming, Lea Michele and Darren Criss with special guests Norm Lewis and Ingrid Michaelson.
