PlaNYC Playground Opens In Harlem

This is the second of 221 PlaNYC schoolyards citywide to be renovated and reopened as community playgounds by 2010, to meet the Mayor’s goal of having all New Yorkers live within a ten-minute walk of a park or playgound. The event was attended by Parks Commissioner Adrian Benepe, State Senator Bill Perkins and Schools Chancellor Joel Klein cut the ribbon at a ceremony celebrating the opening of PlaNYC playground at P.S. 76; 220 West 121st .
