Look who is remaking Harlem

burdenWhen Amanda Burden was 12, her stepfather, CBS founder William Paley, turned the front lawn of the family’s Manhasset, Long Island, home into a testing ground. He littered the yard with massive granite models of the skyscraper he was building to house his company in midtown Manhattan.

“He was obsessed with design detail,” says Ms. Burden of the man she calls one of her greatest influences.

Now the same is said of Ms. Burden.
