Gladiator ‘…A Dream That Was Harlem’ (video)
Click on video before reading (at 2:23):
“…there was a dream that was Harlem…the fight for the dream is continual, there is always someone left to fight….what we do echoes for an eternity…we must be strong and fair, … to give back….remember our Renaissance, it was one of duty, dignity and culture…if we can imagine where we want to be it will be true, and we’ll be remembered. We continue traditions, we serve for the greatness of an idea and a vision….Harlem is worth one good life to make us believe again…this is our country, this is our Harlem…it’s all right here….”
This is a conceptual piece by Daniel Tisdale for HW. The text and music were adapted from the movie Gladiator.
