We are writing to share some great news about our work with the tenants of 1520 Sedgwick Ave, aka the Birthplace of Hip Hop, and our collective struggle to preserve this former Mitchell Lama building.  Since it was purchased and taken out of the Mitchell Lama program in 2008, 1520 Sedgwick has been in a steady state of decline under the ownership of predatory equity investor Mark Karasick.  Continue reading
