In his article for the NY Times Frugal Traveler, Seeing the Work on a Budget, writer Seth Krugel wrote about his stopover in New York City, as he set out to find free or inexpensive places that weren’t mentioned in Fodor’s, Frommer’s, Lonely Planet and Michelin. Of course he found one, Casa Latina in Harlem.

HW Transportation Update: GWB Is Closed

Due to a motor vehicle accident involving a fuel truck on the upper level of the George Washington Bridge the eastbound (Manhattan-bound) upper level of the GWB is closed. Additionally, there is a fuel slick from the GWB to the Sheridan Expressway. Emergency personnel are on-scene conducting a clean up. The Manhattan-bound GWB is temporarily closed to commercial traffic. Expect heavy delays and use caution when driving in this area.
