Harlem RBI’ on PBS

Community

From V. Holly

Friends:

As many of you know, a production crew from the PBS News Hour with Jim Lehrer spent a significant amount of time at Harlem RBI’ this summer. The end result was a 7 minute feature story on our work that aired on Monday evening and is now available for viewing on-line: http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/education/july-dec09/summer_09-07.html

With apologies if you have already seen this, but we figured we would pass this around since many folks requested an email link.

Enjoy, and please feel free to share with your networks. We are thrilled with the final product and to share it with you all who continue to help Harlem RBI thrive and grow–thank you!

Best,

Richard A. Berlin

“I went to bed at about one and woke up at about three,” Mays said. “I couldn’t sleep, because I knew that if I overslept, the kids that are here would be disappointed.”

They weren’t. The event featured one game, which was a 9-9 tie, but the emphasis was on learning the basics and having fun. Continue reading
