Walter’s World: Ailey Season Begins Today

The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater begins their annual five-week holiday season tonight, November 28, at the New York City Center. The 54th season of the company will offer a diverse roster of works. In addition to a world premiere, and three company premieres, the company will also present Ailey classics and audience favorites.

Walter’s World: Prophets of the Funk- David Dorfman Dance

David Dorfman Dance presented the New York première of Prophets of the Funk on Tuesday January 24 at the Joyce Theater. The work was an homage to the genius of Sly Stone and his band Sly and The Family Stone.  Choreographer Dorfman took us on a dance theatre excursion that can only be described as funky.
