On Thursday, April 30, 2009, at 8:00pm & 9:30pm, Londel’s Super Club features an evening with Levern the Entertainer. Levern Williams, a versatile performing artist/Jazz stylist; has been compared to Nat King Cole by critics; “Levern flaunts a unique, exuberant style that is undoubtedly his own”, they added.
Levern’s performance repertoire includes: film (Cotton Club, Times Square, and The Wiz); Broadway (Tremonisha -Scott Joplin, Selma and Camoflague); and has toured internationally with stops in Western Africa (inter- continental Hotels); Paris, France (Inter-continental Hotels); South America, México, Panamá and Brazil.

Harry Belafonte, Ruby Dee and Melvin Van Peebles honored by 350th Harlem Anniversary Celebrations/Black Documentary Collective (BDC) Film Festival on October 13th.
Londel’s Restaurant, Harlem Brewers, and the National Black Programming Consortium (NBPC) are among the Harlem-based organizations also supporting this 6-day film festival tribute to the late Harlem-born activist and documentarian, St. Clair Bourne. The Festival will showcase Bourne’s work, the Black Documentary Collective and other historic documentary and narrative films celebrating the African Diaspora. Among the expected films: “Buck And The Preacher”, “Uptight”, “Classified X”, “Making Do The Right Thing”, “Marcus Garvey: Look For Me In The Whirlwind”, “Statues Hardly Ever Smile”, “Then I’ll Be Free To Travel Home”, “Daughters Of The Wind”, “The Twelve Disciples of Nelson Mandela”, “I Remember Harlem”, and many others.
