The Mayor has established a temporary Odd-Even License Plate System for gasoline purchases in NYC. Starting at 6:00 AM tomorrow, Friday 11/9/12, and continuing until further notice, passenger automobiles with license plates ending in an even number or zero shall only purchase fuel in NYC on even numbered days of the month. In the wake of Hurricane Sandy to support those affected by the devastation, Modell’s Sporting Goods has partnered with the Goodwill Industries of New York/New Jersey and launched dollar donation campaigns at all New York City area stores.

As a standby poll worker, I was thrilled to involve myself in such an important civic duty. Being an African American, exercising the right to vote holds importance to my life due to the blood, sweat and tears my ancestors fought for. With that in mind, being placed as a standby poll worker would be an exciting experience.

Harlem Rep. Rangel Backs Thompson!

At a news conference, the veteran Harlem congressman praised Thompson for his “outstanding ability to reach everyone in the streets.”

“He truly represents our great city from river to river,” Rangel said.
