Modell’s Sporting Goods Steps Up in Hurricane Sandy Aftermath

Now, you have another reason you Gotta Go To Mo’s on 125th Street! In the wake of Hurricane Sandy to support those affected by the devastation, Modell’s Sporting Goods has partnered with the Goodwill Industries of New York/New Jersey and launched dollar donation campaigns at all New York City area stores.

Beginning on Wednesday, November 7th, all New York City-area stores will act as drop-off locations for the Goodwill Industries of New York/New Jersey, allowing customers to bring in and donate new/used clothing, non-perishable foods and other goods.  Continue reading

Harlem Seniors collect 500 pounds

Harlem seniors have helped collect more than 500 pounds of canned and nonperishable food as the Daily News/City Harvest food drive enters the homestretch.The seniors, members of the Hansborough Recreation Center, made the donations while reaching out to West Harlem residents.

Today, honor society students in the fifth grade of Public School 111 will make a sizable donation, the result of lunch-hour food drives. Students at the North Bronx school, also known as the Seton Falls School, have been involved in food collections since 2000. Continue reading
