Walter’s World: Fire Island Dance Festival 17

The Fire Island Dance Festival 17 took place on Friday July 15th through Sunday July 17th at the palatial waterfront home of Jon Biondo, Tim Horrman and Ryan Coutu.

The residence located in The Pines was converted into an outdoor theatre, complete with a raised stage and tiered proscenium seating. The three day, four-performance festival is a major component in the fundraising efforts of Dancers Responding To AIDS; a program of Broadway Cares. Continue reading

Walter’s World: Taylor 2 at the Joyce

The 1,2,3 Festival at the Joyce Theatre opened on April 13, 2010 with a shared program by Taylor 2, ABT II, and Ailey II. Following a shared evening Taylor 2 presented six performances of works by Artistic Director and modern dance legend Paul Taylor. The company performed a diverse program of four works spanning thirty-five years from 1956 to 1991. Continue reading
