New York Cares will send 7,000 volunteers across the city to revitalize public schools on New York Cares Day, Saturday, October 15, 2011.  Now in its 20^th year, this citywide day of volunteering will revitalize 111 schools across the five boroughs. This year, volunteers will spruce up 23 schools in Manhattan (14 in Harlem) including P.S. 50 M-Vito Marcantonio in East Harlem where New Yorkers will touch-up the school’s main entrance, paint a large welcome mural and an early childhood mural, and re-paint the dance room.
