Applebee’s Celebrates Opening In East Harlem

On December 10th, 2012, NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly, Doc Oz, Brooklyn Nets President Brett Yormark, and Tiki Barber joined together for the opening of the first super-green, eco-friendly Applebee’s in the East River Plaza on East 117th Street.

Harlem Protest Against stop-and-frisks (updated)

Harlem World Magazine asked our interns about “stop-and-frisk” in Harlem, who said “…in May (2012) I was stopped-and-frisked 45 times by the NYPD in Harlem”:

Rep. Rangel Refuses To Take A Side in Rename Harlem

Congressman Charles Rangel is refusing to endorse a proposal to rename a Harlem street for a slain police officerand the Harlem Democrat was not happy with CBS 2 on Friday for even asking about it.

He’s 81 years old and slowed by a bad back, but Rep. Rangel can still dance as evidence by a touch of the Salsa at an event in the Bronx. Continue reading →
