There is not a person over the age of 15, who does not remember what they were doing around 8:45 am on the morning of September 11, 2001. That is when a large jumbo jet crashed into the World Trade Center Tower One. About 30 minutes later, a second plane crashed into Tower Two. In a thirty minute period, our lives were changed forever. Americans no longer felt that we were isolated from the hostile attacks that others around the world experienced on a daily basis.

It is funny how fortunes can change in a (Harlem) New York minute. Two years ago, Derek Jeter was the King of New York while his Mets counter part, Jose Reyes, was being labeled an enigma. Jeter was leading the Yanks to their 27th World Series Championship whereas Reyes was nursing what was originally diagnosed as a hamstring strain that eventually turned into a year-long rehabilitation stint. This is not the outcome we envisioned when the Miami’s Big Three agreed to play together. They were already thinking Not One, Not Two, but Several championships during their introductory press conference/coronation last summer.
However, reality slapped the Heat in the face on Sunday, while watching the Mavericks celebrate on the floor of the American Airlines Arena.

Over 30 years ago, Muhammad Ali branded Joe Frazier an Uncle Tom prior to their epic battle. Three decades later, another former Philadelphia Icon, Donovan McNabb, is feeling the same wrath. Ali’s allegation was based on the fact that he felt that Frazier was the chosen Son of the Establishment while the Greatest had been fighting the cause of the disenfranchised throughout the world.
